God’s creation of the
earth is found in Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and consists of the following seven
days of creation:
1. Day one: God made light so there could be day and night. Evening
and morning define one day: “Then God
said, ‘Let there be light’; and
there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the
light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called
Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:3-5).
2. Day two: God made the firmament and separated the waters in two. He
called the firmament, "heaven": “Then
God said, ‘Let there be a firmament
in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.’ Thus
God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament
from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called
the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day”
(Genesis 1:6-8).
3. Day three: God made dry land appear on the lower waters. He
gathered the lower waters into the seas and made vegetation: “Then God said, ‘Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one
place, and let the dry land appear’; and it was so. And God called the dry land
Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw
that it was good” (Genesis 1:9-10). And also “Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring
forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit
according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth’; and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its
kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its
kind. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the
third day” (Genesis 1:11-13).
4. Day four: God put lights in the firmament. He made the sun to rule
day and the moon to rule the night, and the stars also. The greater light rules
the day and the lesser light rules the night: “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them
be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in
the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth’; and it was so. Then
God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser
light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament
of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over
the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was
good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day” (Genesis 1:14-19).
5. Day five: God made sea life and birds from the waters: “‘Then God said, ‘Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and
let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.’
So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with
which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird
according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them,
saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let
birds multiply on the earth.’ So the evening and the morning were the fifth day”
(Genesis 1:20-23).
6. Day six: God made land animals from earth. He made man in
"our" image and woman. He blessed them and told them to be fruitful
and multiply and gave them dominion over all living creatures: “Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth
the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast
of the earth, each according to its kind’; and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth
according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps
on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good”. And also
“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our
image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the
sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and
over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created
him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to
them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion
over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living
thing that moves on the earth’” (Genesis 1:24-28).
7. Day seven: With his work finished, God pronounced the seventh day
holy and rested (The Sabbath of rest): “Thus
the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the
seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh
day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and
sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created
and made” (Genesis 2:1-3).
Genesis is the time of
creation by God. Before the creation of the world Father and Son God were
existed. When Jesus said God created the Heavens and the Earth, it indicates He
created more heaven. And as biblical references we found that He created 3
heavens and the earth. The first heaven is 100 km from earth surface and the
second heaven over it the universe and then the Thorn of God the Third Heaven.
And we do not know when He created these two heavens.
There are 3 theories
thinking about the time of Creation of 6 days. They are described in follows_
1. First one is
like Today’s concept of 24 hours. 1st day created in 24 hours. Then next
day again of 24 hours creation of 2nd day and so no up to 6th day’s creation.
2. The Second
concept is, another 24 hours of creation. As this concept 1st day created
in 24 hours. Then many years (million years Gap) pass by then again 24 hours
creation of 2nd day and so no up to 6th day’s creation.
3. And the Third
concept is Million Years creation. As this concept First day million
years creation then 2nd days another million year’s creation and 3rd day is
million years up to 6th day creation.
These are the 3
possible theory of creation time. Most people think the 1st theory
is acceptable.
Explanation of the creation:
On the first day, God commanded, let the light be shined. This light is
not the light of universe that we see. That Light was the glory of God. It came
from the Thorn. That shines over Second and Third Heaven.
On
second day He lifts up the curtain
and the huge space the lower level of second heaven, in the expenses moist with
thick layer of water. All God’s creations relate to moister. Then God divided
the water layer in two parts. Half of the water level He brings on the planet
earth. And the other half, He moved up to the upper expanse to the sky. So
plants receive water from upper expanse (Genesis 1:6, “And God said, “Let there be an expanse
between the waters to separate water from water”). God made the expanse, He
did not create it.
On
the 3rd day God divided the planet earth of Ocean and Land. On the third day he
opens up the curtain.
On
the 4th day, God opened up the curtain and set all sun moons and stars.
On
the 5th day, He created fishes and put them in to ocean. Birds and let them fly
on air. He said it was good.
On 6th days, he created Man and he
said it was very good. He made the Adams body form Dust and give Soul. There
are two verses, Genesis 1:21, “So God
created the great creatures of the
sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to
their kinds and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it
was good”, and as Genesis 1:27, “So God
created man in his own image, in the
image of God he created him; Male and female he created them”.
There have two verbs
relates to creation of God, one is BARA and the other is ASAH. In
Hebrew BARA, which means created something from nothing. And ASAH, which means
creating something from something. Thus, BARA means ‘creating’ and ASAH means
‘making’. God in Jews means God of creation ELOHIM that represents the Trinity
God, if the re-creation theory is biblical, then whole Genesis chapter 1 should
create through BARA theory. Instead in two cases during the 6th day creation,
God used ASAH theory. God used his voice like, “let there be light” and there
was light, which is call BARA. At the day 6th of his creation He used ASAH. But
only in one case, when God used both ASAH and BARA to create Adam, as Genesis
1:26-27 (Then God Said, “Let us make
man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea
and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all
the creatures that move along the ground.” So
god created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male
and female he created them). This is only case God used both, because Adam
was made of dust. So here he used
ASAH. But when giving Soul and Spirit
He used BARA. As Genesis 2:7, “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of
the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man
became a living being”. Here God used two verbs together.
After the end of each
creation day, God expressed his feeling that it was good. But, after creating
man he said ‘it was very good’. Because man was created as the image of God. So
God was very-very happy with His creation of man.
